Why a Deep Dive Week in Dublin dedicated to traveltech & aviation startups?

Traveltech is a huge sector with plenty of opportunities – and a lot of promising startups across Europe.

Aviation is a strategic pillar for Ireland: “Irish lessors manage €80bn in assets worldwide and there are more than 250 companies involved in the aerospace, aviation and space sectors in Ireland, providing employment for around 42,000 full-time workers.”

Dublin combines a bustling startup ecosystem with an industrial backbone eager to innovate. As a bridge between ecosystems, Dublin has led to the establishment of many key players, such as:

  • Irelandia Aviation, world’s premier low cost carrier (Ryanair, Tiger Airways, Allegiant, VivaAerobus, etc)
  • Traveltech Startups like Boxever, Hostelworld, Datalex and Cartrawler
  • Large Traveltech MNC’s: Tripadvisor, Uber or Airbnb

Ireland already has over 150 Travel/Aviation tech startups and Enterprise Ireland, the Irish support agency runs its own vertical seed funding round in the Aviation and Travel Tech sector (The Competitive Start Fund). Currently, DCU Ryan Academy is running Propellor SNN Accelerator illustrating the deep industry knowledge, insight and contacts in the sector.

The Deep Dive Week

We’ve been putting together a programme that will allow selected startups to get to meet these key players who have managed to overcome the obstacles in international expansion and effectively became global leaders.

These experienced entrepreneurs will be looking forward not only to share their experiences but especially to get to know how they can collaborate with the next wave of disruptors in the sector.

Are you one of the future leaders in traveltech & aviation?
